WELCOME TO OUR PRE-SCHOOL CLASS
We have a lot going on in our Pre-school class. Our teachers bring lots of experience. They plan a lot of activities through out the day with the children to keep them busy.
Our preschool Classroom is Montessori based Program. The classroom contains areas of practical life, sensorial, math, language arts, geography, science, dramatic play, blocks, woodworking, puzzles and art & craft stations. The environment is prepared for the children to make their own choices of what materials to pick. After getting lessons from the teacher, they bring their works on rugs. The use of rugs promotes their focus, concentration skill and respecting others personal space.
This class has a structured scheduled preschool time each day from 9-11:30 am. We have a circle time where weekly themes are discussed, stories are read and finger plays are enjoyed as a group. This is followed by a small group time used to develop targeted academic skills. These areas focus on pre-literacy skills of writing, math, science, language arts, and various cognitive development exercises. Spanish language is incorporated in daily activities.
SOCIAL AND EMOTIONAL DEVELOPMENT
Teachers model and instruct children regarding safety and social issues to enable children to learn problem solving and have positive interactions with their class mates. Children’s attention spans and listening skills are expanded through activities in preparation for Pre-k and ultimately school.
In this room children are taught to be independent and self-sufficient. They are taught to be responsible for themselves and take care of their environment.
ACTIVE PLAY TIME
We start our morning with brain gym, a sequence of exercises and stretches that involves all parts of the brain with whole body movement. Mid mornings and Afternoons are planned with outdoor playground time. Children enjoy running around and playing with their friends on various play structures outside. That helps them with the growth of their gross motor muscle and skills.
ARTS AND CRAFTS
Children are exposed to various mediums of art. They create master pieces, with crayons, markers, paints and water colors. They engage in special craft projects with some teacher instruction where the emphasis is on enjoying the process not the end product.
